Working with the Cyrenians
New Writing North are currently working with the Cyrenians in Newcastle to provide facilitated reading-aloud sessions with a group of recovering addicts. The group meet fortnightly to read and share reflections on a variety of literature, which have included The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemmingway, Too Much Happiness by Alice Munro and Down and Out in London and Paris by George Orwell. The group is lead by Caroline Beck.
